So I sit down for a little $.50/$1.00 play on PartyPoker, where I’ve been playing more of my online games. I’m doing OK so far, starting with my usual buy in at than level, $25, or 50 times the big blind.
I’m playing 2 tables at once, started slow, but have gotten back to about even, when at one of the tables, someone sits down with–get this!–$1000. And almost before his “seat” gets warm, whoever it is starts getting frisky, with frequent raises and more.
I limp in one hand with K-10 offsuit in the big blind and flop top pair. I bet it and whoever this is raises. I reraise and just get called, then get called down to the river an win that pot.
A short while later, I raise with pocket kings, and whoever this is reraises. I cap, then bet out when the flop brings three undercards. I’m raised, and I reraise back. The rest of the hand is just bet-call, an I drag another nice pot.
Not long after that, whoever it is leaves with less then he or she came in with. Meanwhile, I’ve almost doubled up. I was really tempted to type in the chat window something along the lines of “That’s what you get when you bring $1000 to a $.50/$1.00 table,” but I decided no to.
